We’re looking for an Education Program Director – Informatics, Analytics & Data Use to join our Professional Development & Education team!

      What does this role do at AHIMA?

      The Education Program Director – Informatics, Analytics & Data Use will spend half of their time developing courses and the other half collaborating as an SME within their education area with internal and external clients (domestic and international).

      What are some of the responsibilities?

      • Lead Direction, Coordination, and Implementation of Education Area with AHIMA stakeholders, partners, and product owners to drive the growth and influence of the Education Area.
      • Solicit the voice of the customer to discussions.
      • Leads the development of the learning pathways for their educational domain on an annual basis with an eye toward learner progression.
      • Managing contractors or vendors for course content.
      • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in Education Area within AHIMA and to external groups and clients domestically and internationally. Communicating and supporting various activities, including but not limited to:
      1. Delivering educational programs and consultation in Education Area, as well as assorted product and content creation activities.
      2. Public speaking at AHIMA and other Industry events
      3. Consult on sales calls with potential clients on customized education products.
      4. Develop exam prep or micro credential courses.
      5. Review journal articles and other publications within education area
      6. Supporting conferences in educational sessions, etc.
      • Special AHIMA Projects as Assigned.

      What are the knowledge and skills requirements?

      • Requires a bachelor’s degree in health science, quantitative social science, public health, health services research, business, or equivalent program. Master’s Degree preferred.
      • Requires at least 5 years of healthcare experience, education/consulting experience, and/or experience in product planning and project management required.
      • Requires at least 5 years of prior operational and / or data analysis experience, experience in database structures, and standard query and reporting tools.
      • Knowledge of healthcare technology solutions, healthcare terminology and healthcare systems.
      • Demonstrated project management skills required.
      • Demonstrated superior written, editorial, verbal communication and speaking skills required.
      • Demonstrated group leadership and facilitation skills required.
      • The ability to research topics thoroughly, assimilate information correctly, and communicate effectively in writing to produce education area content (e.g., practice briefs and toolkits) that are focused, accurate and understandable required.
      • Demonstrated skill in information technology with moderate competencies in IT networks, use of the Internet, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, SQL and other software necessary to perform the work required, including e-learning technologies required.
      • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and highly detail oriented with strong attention to detail required.
      • Must be willing to travel as directed domestically and internationally (e.g., to customer sites, AHIMA meetings, and industry meetings).
      • AHIMA certification based upon education area (e.g., CCS, CCS-P, CHDA, CDIP, CHPS, etc.) or similar credential preferred.
        1. The hired individual will need to become CHDA certified within the first year of employment.
