      JOB SUMMARYu00A0

      The Education Specialist Extensive Support Needs instructs students with Individualized Education Plans in an inclusive environment. This role works directly within a school site and collaborates regularly with Special Education staff and may work with outside consultants and district personnel as needed.u00A0

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSu00A0

      • Administer academic assessments, write the academic assessment report and present at IEP meetingsu00A0

      • Consult and communicate with faculty and parents via meetings, phone, and email regarding the needs and progress of studentsu00A0

      • Maintain knowledge of current regulations pertaining to special educationu00A0

      • Collaborate with faculty to ensure that students modifications and accommodations are being appropriately implemented in the general education classroomu00A0

      • Assist with the development of the master schedule to plan for all student IEP needsu00A0

      • Meet the minimum IDEA requirements related to case managementu00A0

      • Maintain a high level or rigor for students with disabilities in order to ensure equitable access to common core and/or alternate curriculum standardsu00A0u00A0

      • Regularly collaborates with team members for the purposes of: reviewing student data,u00A0 ensuringu00A0 IEP implementation, co-planning and/or co-teachingu00A0

      • Develop, provide and oversee alternate curriculum and testing for eligible studentsu00A0

      • Implement health and mobility supports (i.e. provide 1:1 support to student in classroom, support student/s with toileting needs, assist with health-related needs (g-tube, feeding, administration of medication) (under supervision of school nurse) and assist with the physical needs of students (lifting/ assisting with mobility, implementing student stretching/exercise routines.)u00A0

      • Oversee, teach and implement a studentu2019s behavior intervention plan, including gathering and analyzing relevant data on a regular basis, and collaborating with staff members around student plan and progressu00A0

      • Input weekly IEP service tracking and meet all IEP timelinesu00A0u00A0

      • Create and maintain notifications, records, files, and reports as required by federal, state, and SELPA regulationsu00A0

      • Coordinate the development and implementation of a studentu2019s Individualized Transition Program, especially students in the 16-22 programu00A0

      • Be able to effectively run a program for students with extensive needs with specially designed instruction to meet their IEP goals, and support studentsu2019 progress within the general education class with appropriately modified/accommodated worku00A0u00A0

      • Collaborate with related service providers to ensure the proper implementation of AAC/functional communication, behavior intervention plans, physical/mobility needs, etc.u00A0u00A0

      • Utilizes Aspireu2019s Alternate Curriculum guidelines to inform student programmingu00A0

      • Daily oversight of paraprofessional support, including the staff schedule and implementation of IEP servicesu00A0

      • Develop a thorough progress monitoring tool for students, that is regularly shared with staff and parents and used for team decision-makingu00A0

      • Communicate on a frequent basis with parents of students around student progress, and collaborate to gain parent inputu00A0u00A0

      • Collaborate with outside providers as needed and appropriate, with parent consentu00A0

      • Perform other related duties as required and assignedu00A0

      • Knowledge of special education principles, concepts, methodologies, and documentation requirementsu00A0

      • Knowledge of special education assessment, planning, instruction, and evaluationu00A0

      • Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning stylesu00A0

      • Ability and willingness to implement studentsu2019 IEPsu00A0

      QUALIFICATIONSu00A0

      • CA Special Education Teaching Credential (Moderate-Severe Education Specialist, Education Specialist-Extensive Needs) requiredu00A0

      • Bridge Authorizations for Moderate-Severe credentials received prior to June of 2022u00A0

      • Bacheloru2019s Degree required; Masteru2019s Degree preferredu00A0

      Competencies:u00A0

      • Expertise in applicable grade-level Common Core State Standards and Academic IEP goal developmentu00A0u00A0

      • Knowledge around the models of co-teaching and serving students with disabilities in an inclusive modelu00A0

      • Ability to learn quickly and to be effective in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment: able to work autonomously and thoroughly with independent self-reflection, as well as take direction as neededu00A0

      • Alignment to and urgency around Aspireu2019s mission, vision and valuesu00A0

      Minimum educational level:u00A0

      • Bacheloru2019s Degree required in a related field.u00A0

      Experience required:u00A0

      • 2+ years working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferredu00A0

      Physical requirements:u00A0

      • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.u00A0

      • u00A0Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.u00A0

      Salary Range: $68,591- $130,642 based on years of experience for this role.u00A0u00A0

      *Bonuses are offered until December 13, 2024 and are paid out in two installments of $3,000. One payment after 30 days of employment and one payment after 6 months of employment.u00A0
