What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a subject matter expert for provider coding education and coding staff education
- Develop and implement a work-plan for conducting financial and other audits
- Analyze and trend data to identify opportunities for improvement in documentation and coding
- Educate providers on correct documentation per CMS guidelines to ensure appropriate billing
- Stay current on coding updates and communicate changes to providers and coders promptly
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must hold a Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist-Physician, or Registered Health Information Technician certification
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5 years of experience in physician coding and/or auditing
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines and coding practices
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
