  $15.61 per hour
  
  The Kirtland Local Schools Board of Education will recommend that the successful candidate be hired through the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio to work on the Kirtland Campus.
  
  Performs a variety of and teaching classroom support and student personal care services as directed by, and under the supervision of an assigned teacher. Performs a variety of classroom activities thatsupports the instructional classroom programming which enable students with disabilities to participate in the educational program and setting fully.
  Minimum Qualifications:
  1.	Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
  2.	Minimally high school graduate, preference to Associate or Bachelor degree
  3.	Secures annual Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide permit
  4.	Experience working with children/your preferred
  5.	One-to-One attendant for students with disabilities
  6.	Communicate accurately and effectively, both written orally
  7.	Demonstrate effective decision making skills
  8.	Utilizes good judgment under routine and stressful work conditions
  9.	Ability to interact comfortably and confidently with the public.
  10.	Work professionally, effectively and collaboratively with others.
  11.	Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual.
  12.	Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  Physical Abilities Required:
  1.	Assists with bus loading and unloading procedures. Inspects harnesses, belts, and other safety devices. Immediately corrects or reports unsafe conditions and/or defective equipment.
  2.	Ability to participate in physical interventions, when necessary, and with fidelity to the methods taught through the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model. Physical interventions are low in frequency but require intense physical exertion. The object is to safely control/maintain a struggling and aggressive young person ranging from 50 – 250+ pounds. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: kneeling, possibly for extended periods of time on hard surfaces, bending, twisting, and holding.
  3.	Ability to physically assist students with disabilities (e.g., lifting, mobility, transferring, positioning, etc.).Minimum fifty (50) pounds.
  4.	Ability to assist children in toileting and administer medical care with training
  5.	Ability to move around a school facility, classroom or community
  6..	Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, reach, sit, and stand for reasonable time period when working with children
  7.	Ability to participate in field trips
  
  (Please note: The person hired for this position will be required to obtain a Student Aide Permit, issued through the Ohio Department of Education. The cost for the permit is $25, and must be renewed on an annual basis.)
