      Position Description:

      The Education Sales Consultant plays a crucial role in generating new sales leads, consulting with and managing existing customers, and executing sales strategies to maintain, acquire and grow our customer base in the assigned territory. The individual in this role has an outgoing personality, high energy, feels comfortable calling on new customers, has a competitive and collaborative spirit and thrives in a goal-oriented environment. We are searching for a sales hunter. The Education Sales Consultant also is responsible for coordinating selling efforts through face-to-face meetings, developing high level relationships with key decision drivers in districts and schools, delivery of face to face or virtual sales presentations, phone and email communication, workshops, and attendance at educational exhibits/conferences.

      • The ideal candidate would reside somewhere within the territory of Maryland or Virginia.

      Scope of Responsibilities:

      The individual in this role is expected to:

      • Use solution selling skills and sales knowledge to prospect new business, effectively manage the assigned territory, make sales calls (including cold calls) and close sales while working re-motely from their home office, the corporate office, or in the field, post pandemic.
      • Acquire and maintain relationships in key accounts and identify/build new contacts in those accounts to grow revenue in the assigned territory – both face to face in the field and via zoom meetings.
      • Use a CRM sytem to maintain and update territory contacts, record sales calls, opportunities, and sales.
      • activity, and effectively manage a sales pipeline of business.
      • Act as the company liaison; build the company brand in the territory and independently work to establish and build high quality and lasting relationships with our customer base and partners.
      • Lead and maintain all communications with customers to uncover territory needs and opportunities. Conducts key sales presentations and provides follow up/pre-sale product training – either face to face or via zoom or webinar.
      • Leverages prior teaching or sales experience to develop new ideas and sales strategies.
      • Develop collaborative relationships within the company to develop a highly effective sales strategy for the territory.
      • Develop and maintain a “living” marketing and sales plan for their strategic development of their territory.
      • Be a collaborative team mate to all members in the company.
      • Be the fulcrum of communication between the company and our partner districts/schools and the contacts in those districts/schools.
      • Other duties for this role will be assigned as necessary/appropriate.


      • Bachelor’s degree required
      • Preferable to have experience in education as a teacher/supervisor/administrator (not required). We do look to hire educators currently in positions in districts/schools that are looking for a highly engaging and fruitful opportunity to be the change in education from the educational material company sales perspective
      • Deep experience in the field of education is required, ether via teaching/administration/supervisory, or via educational sales roles
      • Ability to build and develop a sales territory in the supplemental instructional materials space with special emphasis/preference on elementary mathematics, middle grades mathematics, elementary literacy, or elementary science/STEM, working face to face with customers in the field or via zoom or webinar
      • Proficiency in Office 365 Online Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, One Note), and webinar software
      • Knowledge of CRM required
      • Proven ability to work and schedule time remotely within an in-home office environment
      • Demonstrated ability to deliver winning presentations in person or via webinars

      Physical Demands:

      • Standing (When working outside the office) – up to 80% (presentations and tradeshows)
      • Sitting (Sitting in the home office or other times required when in front of customers and long drives/hotel stays and other duties for the job)- up to 80% (includes driving for long periods)
      • Walking up to 10%
      • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
      • Computer usage – up to 98%
      • Travel – up to 75% (extensive daily travel; moderate overnight travel)
