Job DescriptionJob Summary:
Utilizes appropriate protocols as outlined by national, state, ASET, APT, ASDA, Infection Control and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures. Screens, determines and incorporates specialized systems to enhance technical quality of the procedure being performed. Adheres to the mission and values of Lourdes with all customers. Provides services to patients of all ages.
Job Function:
Must be able to work behind headboard of patient's bed to apply electrodes.
Assist in training new employees
Operate neurodiagnostic equipment to obtain diagnostic recordings following established protocols while manually controlling equipment to obtain pertinent waveforms.
Interacts positively with patients in order to obtain a more interpretable test. Ability to recognize normal from abnormal to obtain the appropriate or additional test.
Monitors the quality of the test being conducted while assuring prudent resource management
Reviews clinical data from medical records and by patient interview to base testing modalities on the information obtained.
Follows hospital and department policies on sterile technique and keeps a clean work area.
Reviews studies with physicians to clarify any discrepancies and does any additional testing required
Demonstrates proficiency and remains current in the neurodiagnostic field and maintains CEU's where applicable
Helps coordinate patient scheduling and perform routine office work and other medial tasks as required.
Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent
