      Working as a member of the U.S. and Canadian Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Information Management team, the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Data and Analytics Specialist will be responsible for working with business domain experts to turn data assets into actionable business insights and opportunities. You will apply advanced analytical methods to leverage data and help solve complex business problems by contributing both as an individual technical expert and in a team setting with business stakeholders and data analysts.

      You will work with the latest tools, technologies and visualization techniques. The position will require an acute eye for detail and data quality, while being able to think of innovative solutions to reap ever-increasing value from Ovintiv data and information. In addition, the role will use direct and indirect influence to continue moving Ovintiv’s culture towards one that is data driven and data focused through new and existing relationships.

      This position can be based in Denver, CO, Calgary, AB, or The Woodlands, TX.

      Responsibilities

      • Engage operations and EH&S and Regulatory staff to identify, prioritize, develop and implement innovative measures to minimize environmental impacts and liability, and to maximize cost-efficiency.
      • Support corporate Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Emissions disclosure and execution of the greenhouse gas (GHG) Reduction Plan.
      • Assist in the estimation of GHG (CO2e) project reductions and projection of emission forecasting.
      • Assist with multi-media data gathering and documentation efforts in the field and in the office.
      • Work within the team to develop and implement robust multi-media data-quality assurance measures.
      • Facilitate the expansion of data visualization and business intelligence tools within the company by developing technical expertise within the system.
      • Present solutions in a clear and concise manner to business stakeholders.

      Requirements

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, environmental science, mathematics, statistics, or data science).
      • Five or more years of related work experience.
      • Strong preference for individuals with programming skills in SQL, R, or Python against large and complex data sets.
      • Experience preparing Corporate ESG data for public disclosures and EPA Subpart W reporting. Additional air compliance experience is a plus.
      • Experience with MS Power BI and Intelex’s Assets and Compliance Tracking System (ACTS).
      • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
      • Solid understanding of data quality concepts.
      • Positive attitude, solid analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
      • Must be willing to travel periodically to field locations within the U.S. and Canada.

      HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $150,000 USD / $100,000 - $150,000 CAD

      Compensation may vary and will be determined by the geographic location, education, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
