Job Description

- Create lesson plans that empower students to work independently, collaboratively, and use the 4Cs (collaboration, creative problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking).
- Provide communication to students and parents on a weekly basis through a variety of tools: phone, messaging, text messaging, and emails.
- Create and maintain an opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment
- Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused instructional environment
- Provide classroom management and discipline that ensures safety at all times
- Provide communication and support to students and parents on a daily basis via through a variety of tools: phone, messaging, text messaging, and emails
- Grade student work within 24-48 hours of being submitted
- Evaluate student progress and provide individualized instruction and feedback
- Ensure compliance with special services such as IEP’s and other related mandates
- Meet expectations as outlined in teacher training and the Teacher Expectations and Guidelines
- Participate in professional development and department meetings, as scheduled
- Assist with administering standardized assessments
- Establish rapport with students/parents and encourage students to maintain attendance and academic expectations
- Direct students to necessary resources including: teachers, tutors, admission’s staff, guidance support, etc.
- Monitor and oversee student access to the Parent Student Portal and any other appropriate websites
- Properly document issues, concerns, and important information concerning students/parents as they present themselves
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives, in order to meet the needs of all students
- Additional duties as needed
- Demonstrate innovation in the use of technology as a tool in a variety of curricular areas
- Design engaging lessons that apply knowledge using the 4Cs.
- Craft, deliver and model engaging student-centered learning experiences
- Maintain a professional code of conduct, including but not limited to professional language, actions, and attire
- Maintain professional confidentiality of personal and private matters pertaining to students, parents, and co-workers
- Acknowledge and accept direction from leadership
- Demonstrate willingness and desire to work and collaborate with students, parents, co-workers, and the general public
- Communicate effectively, both verbal and written
- Maintain positive and pro-active customer service in all aspects of communication, both internally and externally
- Prioritize work and handle multiple tasks while working independently
- Display excellent planning and organizational skills
- Work under pressure, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, and deal with difficult situations while maintaining composure, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Take initiative to look at data analytically, showing excellent reasoning and problem solving skills as it relates to continuous improvement for professional and personal growth
- Demonstrate awareness and willingness to understand personal role and how it contributes to the success of other departments or functional areas

- Know and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Adapt to change while conveying professionalism
- Establish work priorities and work independently without supervision
- Highly qualified in content area
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must possess or be able to acquire an Arizona teaching license issued by the Arizona Department of Education and be certified in the relevant subject area
- Teaching experience at the middle and secondary education level preferred
- Must have a baseline IVP Level 1 DPS background check at the time of employment
