In this position...

• Gain direct insight into the Ford Product Plan, allowing you to contribute to the future direction of the company's products.
• Contribute to enhancing Ford customer attributes, making a meaningful impact on the overall customer experience and satisfaction.
• Play a key role in developing a more energy-efficient battery technology to extend the range of Ford's electric vehicles, contributing to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.

Manage a team of engineers to ensure each electric vehicle (EV) program has a compatible propulsion system that robustly delivers vehicle attributes (driving range, performance, charing, etc.) while meeting program timing.

Qualifications

You'll have...

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
• Capability to inspire, lead, and develop an engineering team.
• Self starter with ability to guide & resolve multiple egineering issues simultaneously.
• Solid communication skills both oral and written.
• Able to readily articulate technical issues in simple manner for audience comprehension.
• Willing to collaborate and fail quickly.
• Understanding of vehicle systems and customer behaviors that impact EV energy consumption (Wh/mi)
• Experience with electrical systems high-voltage (HV) batteries, eDrives / motors, etc.
• High integrity – expected to uphold tenet of providing technical truth and most trusted company tenets.

Even better, you may have...

• Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
• Systems engineering acumen and ability to assess design space trades to deliver most critical customer attributes, quality, and financial aspects.

Responsibilities

What you'll do…

• Manage the electric vehicle (EV) propulsion system program and the associated team interfaces
• Complete propulsion system selection and requirements cascade through the completion of Gives - Gets, VSRDs, USP / PPWB, Hardware Protection, etc.
• Assess impact of unit design changes and iterations
• Assess impact of What If studies on attributes
• Compile propulsion low voltage (LV) Aux loads
• Provide propulsion system input to program milestone paper
• Complete handshakes, affidavits, and media immersion presentations
• Complete analysis, cascade results, and manage workplan for workstreams transitioned from Propulsion Systems Design
• Manage workplan issues for centralized workstreams owned by Propulsion Systems Design
• Provide powertrain inputs required for MoSuite attribute assessments
• Support early platform studies with Vehicle Architecture team
