- Performs routine and assist with complex installations, calibrations, diagnostics, repairs, and replacement of instrumentation and control systems equipment and components for Water and Wastewater facilities, such as treatment plants, pump stations, and lift stations.
- Required to maintain, service, calibrate, repair and install the various electromechanical process instrumentation and control systems, Access Control Panels (ACP's); Electrical Motor Centers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's); Programmable Logic
- Troubleshoots a variety of utilities electrical equipment/system problems to identify the problem and extent of the maintenance/repair problem and recommend preventative measures.
- Performs a variety of routine electrical maintenance and repairs to maintain facilities/equipment in operating condition and to ensure electrical service is not interrupted.
- Performs schedule of corrective, preventative, and emergency repairs, on the electrical, SCADA and control systems, for the Water Treatment Plant, Water Booster Stations, lift stations, and water wells.
- High School Diploma or GED; two (2) years' work experience or equivalent combination
- Licensed journeyman electrician preferred but not applicable
Under general supervision the Electrical & Instrumentation Technician performs skilled, technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, electrical maintenance, PLC ladder logic and related controls, VFD, and repair of process control of the City's Water Treatment system and wastewater collection facilities. Perform field maintenance of lift stations and other water plant electrical infrastructure daily, including installation, maintenance, replace, upgrade, and repair of telemetry, motor control equipment and low/high voltage instrumentation transmitting and receiving equipment or control devices.About the company
