      Job Title: --Electrical Apprentice (In-House)

      Job Summary: --New England Mechanical Services, Inc is looking for an Electrical Apprentice who has already completed their schooling to work at a customer site in RI. This person will assist the Electrician to assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and maintain commercial controls, fire alarms, electrical or electronic wiring and equipment.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

      Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site.

      Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit.

      Drills holes for wiring and pulls or pushes wiring through opening.

      Trace out short circuits in wiring.

      Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.

      Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.

      Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.

      Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

      Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other electrical workers and/or project foreman.

      Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.

      Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.

      Performs minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.

      Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.

      Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment



      Qualifications: -- Technical Electrical Schooling must be complete. Valid Driver's License. Enroll in state apprenticeship program. -sufficient, and able to make field decisions. Must be able to pass extensive security background check.
