      PURPOSE:

      This position will be responsible for the Electrical Engineering requirements on some of the highest profile, most strategic projects across the entire Andersen Enterprise.


      PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Controls Engineering Design
        • Create and evaluate controls/electrical/PLC solutions to problems
        • Write machinery control functional specifications
        • Documentation of electrical design and changes
      • Capital equipment/equipment project support
        • Develop and document electrical/controls functional specifications
        • Communicate electrical specs/standards to prospective suppliers
        • Communicate and verify documentation requirements are met
        • Evaluate technologies are sufficient to meet specifications
        • Complete electrical safety assessments on new/existing equipment
        • Create electrical/controls support plans for new equipment
      • Create modifications to and maintain electrical standards and specifications (Safety, documentation, wiring practices)
      • Ability to evaluate controls/PLC technology for applications within our plant(s)
      • Assess current vs future electrical technology capabilities
      • Provide and/or coordinate detailed estimates for controls /PLC engineering work
      • Provide and/or coordinate Budgetary Quotes/Estimates for Electrician work
      • Able to design/modify/debug control PLC Systems that use enterprise standards**
      • Cross functional work within a project team and across various enterprise locations
      • Hybrid work: 3 days in office per week
      • Travel requirements: 25%

      • RSLinx
      • Variable Freq Drive (VFD) configuration/specifications
      • Servo drive configuration/specifications
      • AutoCAD (for wiring diagrams)
      • EN954 Cat 1-4
      • Sensor application and specification
      • LAN and network configurations
      • Safety circuitry redundancy and monitoring


      QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field
      • Preference of 5+ years’ experience (Hardware focus preferred)
      • Experience with NEC, NFPA79, NFPA70E and other local and national codes that need to be met for electrical equipment
      • Strong knowledge of PLC's, HMI's, PC’s, drives, and control systems
      • Strong knowledge of servo motion control
      • IT/OT experience
      • Strong mechanical background
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
      • Highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined
      • Embraces and drives change to improve

      COMPENSATION:

      Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.

      Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $88,235 - $136,765 annually.

      PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
