What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop relay settings and protection philosophies for distribution equipment including transformers and feeders
- Review protection and control design packages
- Provide remote field support to relay test engineers during installation of settings
- Model electrical systems using power simulation programs like CAPE, ASPEN, and CYME
- Create technical reports and documentation ensuring thoroughness and accuracy
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering
- 2+ years of experience in developing relay settings and protection philosophies for transmission or distribution equipment
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principles
- Ability to work remotely without supervision
- Strong organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, and/or Access
- Experience with developing settings for Schweitzer relays
- Initiative to embrace continuous learning toward becoming an expert in the relevant programs and technology
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to plan and manage assignments effectively
