      Seniority Level: Senior

RITEC, a boutique aerospace and defense design firm recognized for its top-tier engineering talent and cutting-edge rugged systems, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with strong systems thinking and project leadership capabilities.

We're a hands-on, agile team that develops embedded systems for aerospace and defense, ranging from rugged MIL-SPEC routers and computers to next-generation avionics communication systems. Our ideal candidate will be a senior-level engineer who can design complex electronic hardware in-house and effectively coordinate with external design teams, demonstrating professionalism and accountability.

      What You'll Do

      • Lead electrical hardware design efforts, including custom circuit boards, backplanes, and embedded system integration
      • Lead the capture of customer requirements and translate them into actionable engineering specifications
      • Take full ownership of the architecture and design of baseboards for modular processor systems, including COM Express, SMARC, and Intel Atom platforms
      • Collaborate with systems, software, and mechanical teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable products
      • Interface with external design teams (U.S. and international) to drive performance, quality, and timelines
      • Oversee hardware development from schematic capture through layout, prototyping, test, and transition to production
      • Serve as a technical point of contact on key programs to capture customer requirements, support proposals, and participate in program reviews
      • Mentor junior engineers and actively engage in design reviews and board bring-up

      Who You Are

      • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical or systems engineering roles
      • Proven ability to design and integrate embedded circuit boards (analog, digital, and mixed-signal)
      • Experienced in aerospace/defense or similarly high-reliability embedded systems designed for harsh environments
      • Proficient with tools like Altium, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, and simulation software such as LTspice or PSpice
      • Strong understanding of system- and board-level trade studies, including power, thermal, EMI, and mechanical constraints
      • Able to manage off-site teams and subcontractors with clear communication and accountability
      • Team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting a collaborative work environment
      • Familiarity with aerospace and defense standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and DO-254 is a plus
      • Bonus: Experience with rugged design, RTOS, low-level firmware, or FPGA development
      • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is a plus

      Why RITEC?

      • We're not a mega-contractor—we're a focused team of engineers solving real-world problems
      • You'll work closely with industry experts, including a PhD in software, a highly experienced systems engineer, and other talented designers
      • Our work matters—supporting aerospace, defense, and allied nation programs with the highest standards of performance and reliability
      • We foster an engineering-driven culture that values initiative, integrity, and teamwork
      • The right candidate will have a clear career path toward a future role in executive technical leadership or engineering management

      Salary Range

      $140,000 – $185,000 base salary

Final offer may vary based on experience, leadership ability, and technical ownership.
