We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Electrical Systems Engineer within our global engineering team to help support our Home Furniture business. Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry. As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will lead the design, integration, and testing of electrical components and systems for new product development across our home furnishings brands. This position allows you to grow your expertise across disciplines while working on cutting-edge products. You will collaborate globally with cross functional partners to bring designs from concept to commercialization. Location: Carthage, MO | Tupelo, MS | Lenexa, KS (Preferred)
So, what will you be doing as an Electrical Systems Engineer?
• Component & System Design: Gather requirements, define technical specifications, and communicate internally and externally.
• Validation & Testing: Develop and execute validation procedures, ensuring feature set and quality standards are met.
• Product Development Support: Execute component design release processes, including drawing and design approvals.
• Continuous Improvement: Support released products through cost reduction efforts, quality improvements, and engineering changes.
• Innovation & Research: Investigate and drive cutting-edge technologies to enhance industry-leading products and processes.• Travel: 10% domestic and international.
To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in electronics/electrical engineering.
• Expertise in analog & digital circuitry design and application.
• Ability to read schematics, analyze component data sheets, and operate electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Experience with Electrical CAD tools (Altium and/or Cadence).
• Strong collaboration skills—ability to work with hardware/software developers, project managers, and external stakeholders.
• Basic programming skills (Python and/or C++) for electrical test equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of global electronics suppliers and supply chains is a plus.Skills & Abilities:
• Strong technical communication skills with internal and external teams.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
• Ability to validate solutions using data-driven methods.
• Expertise in creating test methods and systems for validation and integration.
• Ability to co-develop solutions across engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, embedded software).
