      Job Summary:

      The Electrical Technician will perform a variety of maintenance and service repairs at clubs throughout the New Jersey area.

      Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

      Electrical

      All Federal, State and Local codes are to be followed in the performance and completion of all work by the Electrical Tech. The current National Electrical Code is to be the minimum standard for all electrical work is required to dispose of all hazardous waste generated by them in accordance with any environmental laws, standards, or codes issued by the Environmental Protection Agency, including waste and disposal. The Electrical Tech is required to dispose of all hazardous waste generated by them.

      The Electrical Tech must carry all tools and materials needed for the activities to be performed.

      Should be able to perform all manners of Electrical repairs including, but not limited to, the following:

      • Have a competency of Electrical Plans and Schematics.

      • Install and repair of electrical outlets or wall-switches

      • Check electrical Club systems after power outage

      • Install, repair, or upgrade electrical panels

      • Install and repair of LED / Incandescent Lighting and Ballasts

      • Install and repair of hand-dryer

      • Install and repair of exhaust fans

      • Repair of deli ticket counters

      • Performs troubleshooting to identify the cause of problems.

      • Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory.

      • Recommends purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies.

      • Troubleshoot, diagnose issues and make repairs to equipment according to established procedures to minimize parts usage.

      • Completes scheduled and assigned preventative maintenance of all Interior Lighting and Case Lighting.

      • Communicates issues and provides feedback to the Facility/ Mechanical Managers regarding maintenance issues, facility/equipment opportunities and outside service vendor performance.

      • Utilizes maintenance work order system to complete repair calls, close completed calls, enter resolutions for calls and update calls according to company policies and procedures. Completes assigned work by required deadline. Responds to high priority calls according to company guidelines.

      • Maintains fully stocked inventory and be accountable for all aspects of assigned inventory; assist in monitoring and control of maintenance inventory. Requisitions parts necessary to complete the job. Provides technical information to ordering team ensuring proper delivery and ordering of all non-stock parts.

      • Attends and participates in all work-related meetings, and training classes. Maintains all certifications as required by manufacturers and local/state/federal law.

      • Maintains company vehicle and adheres to all state/local/federal laws and company policies regarding operation and maintenance of company vehicle.

      • All other tasks assigned by management.

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or GED required

      • 3-5 years of prior expertise in in Electrical, Low Voltage or a related trade required

      • Technical/trade training required

      • Valid drivers license and ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles required

      • Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative nature

      • Availability to work schedule that may include weekends and being on call

      • Journeyman electrical license for New Jersey

      Environmental Job Conditions:

      • Most of the time is spent standing, and moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

      • Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.

      • Usually in a comfortable environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. Occasional exposure to temperature extremes in freezer or cooler units. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

      In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJs Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $26.44.
