- Assist in performing electrical maintenance and construction of substation equipment and transmission lines:
- operate high voltage switching equipment
- perform simple hot stick work
- perform rubber protective goods application
- work on energized conductors above 600 volts
- work in energized contact areas under observation of electrician class 1 or higher
- observe and follow work procedures and safety practices
- perform work according to construction standards and procedures
- Assist in ensuring efficient organization of work assignments:
- obtain required tools, materials, and prints
- contact appropriate people to carry out assignments
- Maintain necessary documents and complete paperwork:
- prepare reports following accounting procedures
- complete field revisions on drawings and records
- Provide relief for other positions as required, and work without assistance in job areas where sufficient knowledge and training are present
- High School Diploma or GED/HSED and one of the following:
- Associates Degree in an Electrical field or equivalent
- Obtained Journeyman status in an Electrical, Instrument or I&E trade
- Equivalent Armed Forces training
- Valid drivers license
- Must have a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or be able to obtain one within 6 months
- Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) - Other level: Comprehension of pictured mechanical principles such as gears, levers, pulley systems, water flow, etc.; arithmetic skills in calculating distances shown in prints and drawings; and the ability to read and understand written material.

Work Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm - Monday - Friday

Job Summary
Assist in ensuring safe and efficient substation and transmission (S&T) electrical operations by performing maintenance and construction of substation equipment and transmission lines, installing and maintaining control devices, organizing work assignments, and completing necessary documents.

Maximum Posting Range: $55.99
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
