      Job Description

      The Electrician Apprentice will learn on the job to install and maintain the electrical wire, fixtures, and systems in buildings. This position will also learn on the job to diagnose and repair electrical systems and lead customers to informed and confident buying decisions.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Assist Journeyman and/or Master Electricians with installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment
      • Assist in identifying electrical problems in existing building and equipment and make recommendations for repairs
      • Assist in completing electrical installations and carrying out various maintenance duties
      • Work directly with plumbers and HVAC technicians during the installations of air source heat pumps, furnace, water heaters, rooftop units, and other equipment as necessary
      • Team with customer service and dispatch to ensure best customer experience and maximize productivity/revenue
      • Use a variety of tools and techniques to complete electrical tasks
      • Order electrical parts, maintain work logs, and collaborate with other service workers to complete large projects
      • Follow safety codes and building regulations
      • Respect and leave owners property clean and in better condition than you found it
      • Learn the electrical trade and deliver craftmanship level work
      • Any other duties needed to help drive our vision and fulfill our mission, while abiding

      Skills and Knowledge:

      • Apprentice License/ability to acquire apprentice license
      • Maintain good knowledge of heating and air condition systems as well as various testing equipment
      • Ability to read blueprints
      • Good technical skills and a willingness to follow instruction
      • Practical experience working with electrical systems and equipment
      • Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and handle criticism appropriately
      • Understanding of preparing and maintaining accurate records
      • Ability to work cooperatively with other trades
      • Ability to effectively communicate with all customers
      • Proficient in reviewing and interpreting technical information
      • High problem-solving skills

      Physical Requirements

      • Ability to lift 100 pounds on a regular basis
      • Ability to use power tools and climb ladders
      • Have or be willing to get proper certification
      • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
      • Physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits

      Other Information:

      • Fulltime, hourly position, additional compensation is available upon completion of training period

      • Valid driver?s license with good driving record in compliance with John Henry?s requirements
      • Pass all pre-employment background checks
      • Must complete a pre-employment drug screening and physical
      • At least 18 years of age
