      Summary

      Invest in your career by pursuing an apprenticeship opportunity either by obtaining a journeyman's license through a trade school or by completing the Bright Point's (formerly John Tyler) apprenticeship program. Pursuing a career as an Electrician position you will be able to learn the safe operation, routine maintenance, and lubrication schedule for primary production/warehouse equipment. Need to understand shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering, and plant reporting systems. Assist in maintaining the plant esthetics. Gain a working knowledge of the P.M. programs. Obtains or maintains a license to operate a lift truck. Perform routine safety and maintenance functions on lift trucks. Learn the use of hand and shop tools; develops a clear understanding of safety requirements. Learned routine equipment adjustments and maintenance procedures for primary production and warehouse equipment under the direction of a qualified technician. Learns the role of maintenance as it contributes to facility goals for safety, sanitation, cost, quality, production, and customer service

      Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

      • Pass a Basic Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude Evaluation given by a Maintenance Supervisor.
      • Read drawings (ex. blue prints and electrical schematics)
      • Able to wire a 120V circuit, a 480V motor, and 277V lighting & able to run conduit.
      • Operate and read a Multi-meter.
      • Must have the ability to apply and basically interpret the National Electrical Code.
      • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to do minor troubleshooting of basic circuitry and equipment.

      Minimum Education

      High School or equivalent, with a journeyman's license or completion of John Tyler's apprenticeship program.

      Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

      1. Position is active, must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, climb and stand and walk for extended periods of time. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally, must be able to lift up to 30lbs on a regular basis, unassisted. 3. May need to access files, supplies, and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. 5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
