- In this position you can expect to work on site at DEN 4 days per week. Shift is Mon-Thur 6am-4:30pm.
- Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Participates in mandatory snow removal duties
- Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change
- Perform electrical maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation tasks specifically related to HVAC systems.
- Work with and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Building Automation System (BAS) controls, and motors that power and control HVAC systems.
- Safely work with, understand control and power systems, including 24V, 120V, and 480V circuits.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to HVAC electrical components and perform preventative maintenance with HVAC technicians and controls specialists.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, HVAC wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals to ensure efficient system performance and code compliance.
- Prepares working sketches and works from blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions.
- Collaborate with HVAC mechanics and controls technicians to support departmental goals and maintain operational readiness of the airport’s HVAC infrastructure.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and life safety systems, including their installation, testing, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Installs new or upgraded electrical equipment and/or systems for the purpose of construction, tenant finishing, or remodeling and completes circuits according to diagram specifications and code requirements.
- Responds to electrical service or trouble calls, troubleshoots various problems/issues, and provides problem resolution.
- By position, participates in snow removal duties.
- By position, responds to after hours calls or emergency calls outside of normal scheduled or business hours
- Experience working on electrical systems in commercial or industrial HVAC environments.
- Familiarity with HVAC operations and equipment, including understanding air flow, temperature control, and system integration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols and practices when working with high-voltage systems and mechanical equipment.
- Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: One (1) year of journey-level electrician experience maintaining, repairing, and constructing electrical systems and equipment.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: None.
- Licensure: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Requires a Journey Electrician's License issued by the State of Colorado or state issued equivalent at the time of application.

Denver International Airports HVAC Department is seeking an Electrician I and will work as a specialized team supporting the operation and maintenance of the airport's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. You will work alongside two (2) experienced licensed electricians and will focus on electrical systems related to commercial HVAC equipment, including but not limited to Air Handling Units (AHUs), Make-Up Air Units (MAUs), Rooftop Units (RTUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and other ancillary and unitary equipment.
