- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to identify faults and plan work.
- Troubleshoot and interpret PLC ladder logic and control systems to identify and resolve automation and control issues.
- Accurately diagnose and repair electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring timely restoration of service.
- Maintain and troubleshoot high-voltage motor systems (480V/4160V), including motor starters, controls, and protective devices.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain AC/DC variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control centers (MCCs).
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics to support electrical components tied to hydraulic systems.
- Perform calibration and troubleshooting of field instrumentation, including pressure, level, and flow transmitters.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair or assemble pneumatic and electric control valves, including positioners and actuators.
- Complete preventive maintenance and predictive diagnostics on critical electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Work safely in compliance with plant safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical codes (e.g., NEC).
- Work a flexible schedule, including overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed to support mill operations.
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Electrical or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or papermill environment.
- Proven experience working with 4160V motor systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Proficient in PLC troubleshooting, including ladder logic diagnostics (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and other applicable safety/electrical codes.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and reach in elevated or confined spaces.
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work at heights, on ladders, scaffolds, or platforms.
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, noisy, or dirty environments.
- Must be able to wear the required PPE and adhere to all safety standards.
