- Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
- Works under the supervision of the Supervisor/Lead Plant Operations Technician. Assists in delivering quality cost effective health care by performing the inspection, maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical equipment and instruments. Conducts weekly emergency generator power tests. Services electrical equipment using appropriate procedures which meets manufacturers, state, federal, N.F.P.A. and J.C.A.H.O. standards for maintaining electrical equipment.

- Required: Three (3) years of experience in electrical trades in construction or maintenancePreferred: Experience working in a hospital environment and working with high voltage

- Essential Responsibilities
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Performs inspections, maintenance, repair, and calibration of electrical equipment per department guideline and documents to ensure that electrical equipment meets manufacturer specification for safe and proper use.
- Maintains accurate electrical equipment inventories to complete required preventive maintenance and repair.
- Maintains accurate records on preventive maintenance and repairs for electrical equipment.
- Repairs all electrical equipment or systems as assigned with no callbacks.
- Checks and documents leakage of electrical equipment and appliances as scheduled.
- Completes requested repairs within same day of issuance or 1 day of estimated completion date. Immediately communicates status either completed work or expected completion time to the end user. If end user is not available a message will be left in the department/office stating status.
- Completes at least 95% of scheduled preventive maintenance within 30 days of issuance.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment. Insures that departmental supplies are up to par level.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with co-workers, supervisors, managers and other members of the hospital staff so as to promote efficiency and to provide quality patient care.
- Communicates with Supervisor and end user when undue delays / conflicts occur in performing repair work.
- Assumes responsibility of any assigned work request to ensure satisfactory completion. Contacts Supervisor if any outside assistance is needed and coordinates this work with the outside vendor.
