- Current IEE 18th Edition
- HV & LV Competent Persons course
- Health and Safety qualification/ certification. E.g. (Risk assessment training)
- Portable appliance testing City & Guilds 237
- First Aid Training
- Previous experience working on breakdowns and PPM on technical, electrical plant found in a hospital environment.
- Previous experience in the Healthcare environment
- Knowledge of HTM 06.02 (D)
- Experience of working within a team and own initiative
- Experience of working in a demanding environment with many, sometimes conflicting priorities.
- A positive and initiative-taking attitude to manage a high volume of work and ability to problem solve.
- High degree of accuracy and diligence.
- Ability to deliver quality work in a challenging environment with conflicting priorities.
- Flexible and keen to progress and be trained in other skills.

Job summary

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be diagnosing and repairing faults on Healthcare Building Services which include the following:
Hot water boilers, sterilizers, washer disinfectors, electrical distribution services, motors, heating and ventilating plant and controls, fire, nurse call and panic/intruder alarms, heating and ventilating plant and controls and carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks on the said equipment.
Candidate will be responsible for ordering engineering spares, materials and equipment needed to undertake the works.
You will understand the working layout and operation of healthcare Building Services including engineering, plumbing and electrical systems on all the Trust's properties and instruct others on maintenance and inspection.
You should be able to travel between various hospital sites. A mileage allowance will be paid for this facility if own vehicle is used.
The successful candidate will also deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others.
