      The role

      As a Workshop Electrician: You will be working in the busy Falmouth Hub workshop, however some requirement to go to site as part of any of the global project sites, will be expected. Falmouth Hub, design, and fabricate highly specialised drilling systems. These systems are deployed globally to jack up barges and vessels for projects in the Marine Infrastructure, energy, and constructive sectors. This role will be to report to the Workshop Electrical Supervisor. Your duties will include.

      • Demonstrating a sound understanding of electrical principles and practical skills, of appropriate new and exciting drilling equipment and ancillary plant; propose practical solutions in a wide variety of methods.
      • Communicate concisely with all parties associated with the task, as required by the projects, to ensure the requirements of the task are being met.
      • Assess performance and condition of site operations plant relevant to the individual, check for wear and tear and identify potential breakdowns and carry out remedial actions.
      • Complete all tasks assigned and to the tolerances and specifications given by design or senior instruction and within the project quality requirements.
      • Ensure all Health & Safety of personnel within the project site environments, including clients and visitors, remains a priority always.
      • Completion of reporting tasks to ensure that all progress, downtime, and plant & equipment defects are correctly recorded
      • Assist the superintendent in the development of staff, identify training requirements and share personal experiences and knowledge with the apprentices and other less experienced members of staff.

      Who we’re looking for:

      • Able to work tight deadlines.
      • Able to work shift patters and respond to breakdowns whilst on site.
      • You have experience and the ability to work in a busy fast -paced environment.
      • You can work alone using own initiative
      • You have experience of conducting routine maintenance and testing on plant or machine equipment.
      • Have a sound understanding of electrical schematics and technical documentation
      • Have the commitment to continuous professional development.

      Essential:

      • Marine or Industrial electrical Qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
      • 18th Edition

      Competencies:

      • Installation and Maintenance of three phase & single-phase systems
      • Installation and maintenance of control systems
      • Installation and maintenance of fire and gas systems
      • Installation and maintenance of communication systems
