Power Electronics Electrical Engineer
San Francisco, CA
Full-time | Permanent
We're hiring on behalf of a company on a mission to revolutionize the U.S. power grid. Backed by a top-tier team of engineers and operators, they're building cutting-edge inverter systems and infrastructure to enable affordable, reliable, and clean electricity at scale.
As a Power Electronics Electrical Engineer, you'll take ownership of the electrical hardware design for a major subsystem in a grid-tied inverter. From early schematics through to production release.
What You'll Do:
Lead electrical hardware design for a key part of a grid-tied inverter
Create schematics, perform PCB layout, and support PCBA release
Support manufacturing ramp-up and perform root cause analysis
Visit suppliers and ensure quality control in hardware production
Work cross-functionally with firmware, control, and power electronics teams
What We're Looking For:
2+ years experience designing grid-tied or similar power converters
(DC/DC, DC/AC, MPPT, filters, GFCI, magnetics, etc.)
Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering, PCB layout, magnetics, and EMC design
Familiarity with UL 1741, IEEE 1547 is a major plus
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or similar
