- Minimum five years’ full-time experience with hospital electronics is preferred.
- Previous experience in a Hospital/institutional setting preferred.
- A strong knowledge of life safety systems, building automation, and other computerized systems is preferred.
- Grade XII Manitoba Standards required.
- Graduate from a recognized Electronics Technology program preferred.
- CTTAM member preferred.
- Manitoba Department of Labour licenses to work on fire alarm systems and any electronic equipment required.
- Limited Electricians “M” License required.
- Winnipeg Fire Department Service Person License required.
- Must be conversant with Manitoba Fire and Building Codes.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Manual dexterity for the effective performance of job duties.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
- Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Good physical and mental health to meet position demands.
- Ability to work in a computerized office system environment.

Position Overview
The incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of the site Electronics section. Maintains, tests, calibrates, installs, and repairs all site electronic equipment and systems. Participates in the selection of electronics equipment and the preparation of specifications for new equipment and systems. Is in contact with internal and external technical and management staff as well as external vendors and service personnel regarding equipment repairs, maintenance, and supplies. Provides technical advice and support to outside contractors and vendors involved with the installation, inspection and repair of electronic systems and equipment. Works in cooperation with other Facility Services and Protective Services staff as required.

Physical Requirements
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
