High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years of related experience as an electronics technician
Knowledge of test equipment, spectrum analyzers, digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, radio test equipment, meters, signal generators, amp meters, voltmeters, and other digital instruments
Associates Degree/vocational school
Ability to operate forklift, overhead crane ad operate and repair electrical switch gear
Ability to repair power supply
Electronic Circuitry Repair: Troubleshoots and repairs electronic circuits using necessary equipment.
Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Repair: Repairs mechanical and electrical equipment as required.
Preventative Maintenance: Performs preventative maintenance and instructs students on the accurate use of equipment.
Design and Fabricate: Helps design and fabricate electronic equipment.
Documents Repair and Design: Document, repair and design electronics systems using AutoCAD and/or pCad as required.
Procedure Establishment: Establishes and oversees standard operating procedures.
Research Task: Performs research tasks and performs other duties as assigned.

The Texas A&M University Cyclotron Institute, a Department of Energy University Facility, is jointly supported by DOE and the State of Texas and is a major technical and educational resource for the state and the nation. At the Institute, we focus on conducting basic research, educating students in accelerator-based science and technology, and providing technical capabilities for a wide variety of applications in space science, materials science, analytical procedures and nuclear medicine.
