08/03/2023 - Serve as an instructional leader of the school by leading in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring of the instructional program.
- Monitor all school process to support maximum student achievement for total group, sub-populations, and individual students.
- Work with staff to choose and guide appropriate and needed staff development.
- To support school teams and committees that support student learning, i.e. grade level teams, RTI team, IEP/MDT teams, etc.
- Establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school.
- Plan, organizes and direct implementation of all school activities.
- Keep supervisor informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the supervisor’s accountability.
- Monitor the expenditure of funds.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation or reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required and appropriate to the school’s administration.
- Work with various members of the central administration staff to solve school problems such as transportation, special services, federal and state programs, etc.
- Assume the responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations by the school’s staff and students.
- Promote and maintain positive working relationships with students and parents.
- Budgets school time to provide for the efficient conduct of school instruction and business.
- Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary, according with due process to the rights of students.
- Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
- Expanding personal professional growth by keeping abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
- Supervise all professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and non-professional personnel attached to the school as assigned.
- Assist in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s professional staff.
- Approve the master teaching schedule and any special assignments.
- Orient newly assigned staff members and assist in their development, as appropriate.
- Evaluate all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
- Conduct meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school and as outlined in the Master Contract.
- Assist in the in-service orientation and training of teachers, with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instructions.
- Recommend according to established procedures, the removal of a teacher whose work is unsatisfactory.
- Assume responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant.
- Supervise the daily use of the school facility for both academic and nonacademic purposes.
- Plan and supervise fire and evacuation drills as part of an emergency preparedness program.
- Provide for adequate inventories of property under his/her jurisdiction and for the security and accountability for that property.
- Supervise all activities and programs that are outgrowths of the school’s curriculum.
- Participate in principal meetings, negotiations meetings, and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
- Respond to written and oral requests for information.
- Establish and maintain favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems.
- Serve as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed to by the superintendent.
- Knows and follows school policy and the chain of command.
- Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
