      Position Overview:

      The Emergency nurse's primary function is to work in the Emergency Department. This nurse acts as a team member in the Trauma Department when necessary.

      JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

      Customer Care
      • Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patient's conditions, develops individual care plans for patients, and evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan.
      • Coordinates the delivery of patient care for a group of patients; directs and assigns patient care to support personnel. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient/families in accordance with hospital and nursing standards.
      • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other disciplines as required and adjusts the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care, i.e. explains the health treatment to the patient/significant other.


      Communication
      • Maintains documentation in the patient record, i.e. adheres to regulatory standards for documentation of narcotics, acuities, triage, pre-op consents, etc. Documentation reflects the nursing process and collaboration with health team members.
      • Maintains effective communication with the physician and health team members. Relates with patients, public and team members in a manner conducive to a harmonious working environment in which patient centered goals are achieved.


      Customer Satisfaction
      • Delivers care in a manner that preserves/protects client/resident autonomy, dignity and rights; demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress; is non-judgmental and non-discriminatory; maintains patient confidentiality.
      • Assists in achieving and maintaining positive patient satisfaction survey results.
      • Prioritizes work and provides prompt and efficient service.


      • Adheres to departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and CQI program.
      • Attends meetings as required; participates on unit/hospital committee meetings as assigned.
      • Ensures that department and equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
      EDUCATION
      Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

      Associates: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

      Bachelor's: Preferred
      CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
      RN-Registered Nurse of California
      TNCC-Trauma Nursing Corp Course within 90 Days of hire
      CCCRN-Certified Critical Care RN within Obtained within 2 years of hire or transfer of hire
      OR Certified Emergency Room RN within Obtained within 2 years of hire or transfer of hire
      BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
      ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
      PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support

      PAY RANGE: $68.36

      Pay Range is $68.36 to $68.36 / hour

      The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
