      Pay Range*: $21.45/hr - $23.00/hr

      Position Summary

      The Emergency Department Technician works cooperatively with all members of the team of care treating Emergency Department patients. The ED Tech stocks supplies and performs clerical activities to assist nurses and physicians in meeting patient care needs. He/she actively communicates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and resolve basic patient care needs.

      Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

      • Provides direct patient care and supports multidisciplinary healthcare team in a safe, cost effective manner. Performs basic patient care activities in accordance with departmental policy to maintain patient's safety, comfort and privacy.
      • Stocks and maintains supplies throughout the department.
      • Provides clerical support as needed. Accurately logs messages and ensures that appropriate personnel are notified.
      • Assists in collection of patient's history and ensures confidentiality of records.
      • Actively participates in hour rounding as appropriate for the unit each shift.
      • Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and restocking of room supplies as needed.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      *Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.       Minimum Requirements

      Qualifications/Work Experience:

      • At least 6 months experience in an emergency department setting or 12 months experience as an ambulance attendant is preferred.
      • Nursing Students in their first semester or higher

      Education/Licensure/Certification:

      • High School Diploma or equivalency or evidence of higher education required.
      • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
      • Current California EMT licensure is preferred.
