- Develop and review emergency documentation, maps, and plans to ensure clarity and readiness.
- Conduct emergency preparedness risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and enhance response strategies.
- Manage and compile monthly data and statistics to track emergency preparedness metrics and inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Update and maintain training records to ensure personnel readiness and compliance with emergency protocols.
- Support the planning, documentation, and execution of emergency exercises to validate and enhance emergency response capabilities.
- Maintain and manage emergency facilities, equipment, and resources to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with contractor emergency preparedness personnel/teams to coordinate and align emergency response strategies and resources effectively.
- Masterful communication skills: adept at fostering productive relationships with contractors and responders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities: capable of conveying information effectively.
- Strong organisational skills: methodical approach to planning and management.
- Self-driven and goal-oriented: adept at prioritising tasks to achieve team objectives and targets.

The Opportunity
Working as our next Emergency Preparedness Officer, you’ll be reporting directly to the Emergency Preparedness Manager where you’ll be responsible for overseeing and maintaining HPC and Contractor Emergency Processes, Facilities, and Equipment. It involves planning and coordinating EDF Emergency Exercises and providing essential support to the Emergency Preparedness Team. This team is responsible for the comprehensive Emergency Arrangements at HPC, ensuring the efficacy of contractor Incident Management Plans and Emergency Response Arrangements.

What you will be doing…
The role operates within established policy frameworks, guided by the Emergency Preparedness Manager, yet offers significant autonomy for making sound decisions independently, crucial for managing unpredictable scenarios. Collaborating closely with the Emergency Preparedness, Fire Safety, and Incident Response Teams, you will ensure seamless implementation of emergency protocols to safeguard and respond effectively to incidents throughout the HPC project. Who you are…
We’re looking for you to hold competent knowledge on Microsoft applications and thrive in digital environments. You should excel in creating and reviewing documents and have a proven track record in conducting and documenting risk assessments. Experience in organising and managing small projects is crucial. While familiarity with emergency arrangements, plans, policies, and procedures is a plus, it's not mandatory.
