What You'll Do:
Ohio Department of Public Safety - Emergency Management Agency (Plans)Report In Location: 2855 W. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235Work Hours: 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m (Overtime as Required)(CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE) Will report into the office 3 days a week and telework 2 days a week. Subject to change.· Acts as project leader &/or principal liaison to assist in planning, coordinating, monitoring & evaluating scientific, technical & professional or professional programs &/or projects for targeted populations & geographic areas or designated area of interest or statewide services
· Coordinates with county, state & federal agencies to monitor & evaluate mitigation, preparedness, response & recovery issues for designated populations & geographic areas of Ohio in event of natural hazards, hazardous materials & nuclear emergencies, etc.
· Conducts exercises & training
· Gathers & organizes large volumes of raw information, both written & verbal, from disaster related professionals, governmental authorities, officials & technicians
· Analyzes, interprets & organizes data into integrated emergency operations plans
· Conducts personal & written interviews with public & emergency officials in order to collect information
· Plans for emergencies
· Develops procedures to cope with hazards
· Plans for rapid relocation of large segments of population
· Provides technical planning assistance & guidance to state & local government agencies, private sector groups & other program participants
· Conducts on-site review of plans
· Attends disaster planning meetings & conferences to represent department
· Conducts or arranges training sessions & seminars on emergency plans relative to all hazards
· Makes presentations to local government officials, county commissioners, & general public
· Prepares required reports regarding plan status
· Answers inquires & correspondence
· Prepares visual & graphic presentations for inclusion in plans & for county emergency management agency use
· Works closely with Public Information Office to ensure plan features are publicized
· Assists in preparing, coordinating, monitoring, & evaluating exercises conducted to test plans
· Assists with other emergency support duties to meet operational requirements
