- Patient Care Support:
- Assist with basic care needs (bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility).
- Record and report vital signs and observations.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Clinical Support:
- Assist with procedures such as wound care, splinting, and EKGs.
- Collect and label specimens.
- Set up rooms and equipment for exams and procedures.
- Department Operations:
- Transport patients and maintain room readiness.
- Restock supplies and ensure a clean, organized environment.
- Respond in emergency/code situations as directed.
- Communication & Documentation:
- Accurately document care and report changes in condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- BCLS certification required.
- Previous Emergency Department Technician, Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- One of the following certifications/programs required: B-EMT, Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program, Completion of a formal nursing education program, Completion of a formal medical doctor education program OR One (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of above completed certification/program. (Must complete applicable certification/program within 12 months of hire).
- Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period required.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The ER Tech Assistant supports patient care in the emergency department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. This role provides hands-on assistance with clinical and non-clinical tasks, ensuring timely, safe, and compassionate care for patients of all acuity levels. Responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice and hospital protocols.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
