Experience must include maintaining computerized records, and interpreting and applying complex laws, rules and regulations. Experience providing technical leadership is desirable.

- The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for July 1, 2025.
- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for July 10, 2025 .
- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for TBD .
- Second interviews may be held in-person.

The Personnel Services Division is now accepting applications for Employee Benefits Specialist I/II.
To perform highly responsible functions and tasks relating to the employee benefits programs of the County Office of Education including, but not limited to, enrolling and orienting employees regarding benefit programs, paying insurance carriers for coverage, charging costs to appropriate program fund accounts, facilitating unemployment insurance claim processing, maintaining tuberculosis records, processing invoices, and tax shelter account changes, voluntary payroll deductions, and establishing direct deposit payroll accounts.
The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with strong data analysis and interpretation skills. They demonstrate excellent organizational abilities and a customer-focused approach, with the ability to effectively communicate complex benefits information.
This position is full-time, in-person and has a work year of 12 months, 261 days, 8 hours per day.
This position is an alternate class series. Passing candidates will be screened in as a Level I or Level II based on their education and experience as outlined in the job description and as it relates to the duties of the position.
