      Chevron is accepting online applications for the Employee Relations (ER) Counselor position through 09/06/2023 at 11:59 p.m.


      This job may be performed in any Chevron U.S. location where there is available office space (hybrid work model)

      Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

      • Start-to-finish handling of investigative processes including intake, strategic planning, conducting interviews, data (evidence) gathering and analysis, report writing, updating case management systems, involving stakeholders and providing updates.

      • Provide consultative services for business HR (BHR) and line management including HR policies, performance management and associated corrective actions.

      • Facilitate dispute and conflict resolution processes.

      • Respond to regulatory employment charges (federal and state agencies).

      • Partner with other Chevron organizations pertaining to work assignments (e.g., Employment Law, Global Security, IT Forensics, Labor Relations, Ombuds).

      • Develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders (e.g., ER metrics, best practices, and training to support competency development of ER-related subjects).

      • Analyze data and identify trends to recommend focused HR attention and interaction in support of business initiatives.

      • Represent Chevron through professional organizations to benchmark and understand external ER-related matters, best practices, processes, and tools.

      • Support the severance administration process, unemployment claims administration process, and special projects as needed.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree.

      • 5+ years experience as a neutral fact finder, facilitator of discussions, analytical and technical writer, presenter.

      • Practical application of organizational policies and processes and employment laws.

      • Strong attention to detail including demonstrated expertise analyzing and summarizing relevant facts appropriate for intended audience.

      • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of personnel effectively and timely.

      • Demonstrated independent decision-making ability, prioritization skills, and project planning and management.

      • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

      • Ability to travel, estimated up to 10% of the time.

      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Working knowledge of HR systems, processes, and best practices typically gained through experience handling workplace matters related to HR (e.g., managing performance, progressive discipline, conflicts, inappropriate behaviors including allegations of discrimination or harassment) at a large corporation or a firm supporting large corporations.

      • Good understanding of federal employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA); familiarity with state employment laws.

      Relocation Options:

      Expatriate assignments will not be considered.

      • The anticipated salary range for this position is $ 97,800- 192,600. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
