Job Description

- As an Employee RelationsManager, you will serve as a strategic partner bridging organizational and employee interests through comprehensive consultation and advisory services. Your primary focus will be providing expert guidance on labor relations, dispute resolution, and employment terms while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and agreements.

Key responsibilities include interpreting and administering labor agreements, managing grievance procedures, and supporting contract negotiations. You will facilitate productive relationships between the bargaining council, department leadership, and union representatives while providing strategic counsel to management on employment law and ER policies.

You will develop and implement effective employee relations procedures, analyzing people-related metrics to identify trends and inform policy improvements, management development, and employee engagement initiatives. This includes establishing robust governance structures for issue resolution and fostering open communication between employees and management through guidance on problem-solving and regulatory compliance.

Additional duties encompass conducting exit interviews for voluntary separations, analyzing full-time equivalent (FTE) CREST codes for budgetary planning, and preparing required attrition reports and SSA monthly regional reporting.

This role requires strong analytical skills to evaluate workforce data and trends, excellent communication abilities to facilitate dialogue across all organizational levels, and deep knowledge of labor laws and dispute resolution practices.

You will manage organizational surveys by implementing staff mapping, coordinating employee opinion survey participation, and tracking departmental action plans. Additionally, you will prepare and distribute various workforce analytics reports for management, regional stakeholders, Information Services, and medical providers, covering employee movements and feedback assessments.
- Sub-Sahara Africa (SSA) Regional Leadership, West-Central Africa (WCA) HR Teams, Department Heads, Employee/Union Representatives, Legal/Compliance Teams, and external bodies including Labor Relations authorities and Employer Consultative Forums across Nigeria and Sub-Sahara Africa.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Deep knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
- Experience in policy development and implementation.
- Project management and negotiation skills.
- High emotional intelligence and cultural awareness
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Industrial Relations, Business, Law or other related degree (Required)
- Master's degree in related field (Preferred)
- CIPM/CIPD/SHRM/HRCI certification (Preferred)
- Mediation/Labor Law certifications (Added advantage)
