      MISSION:

      JOB PURPOSE:

      Under general supervision, the Employment Services Specialist will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and successfully completing all documents as it pertains to the hiring process. The Employment Services Specialist will also assist in various human resources activities related to recruiting, employment & retention, new hire processing and entering HR data into systems.

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Processes all new hire paperwork in accordance with Policy 230L and ensures that all new hire documents have been requested within three days of receipt and that all candidates have been submitted for final approval within ten days of receipt or documentation.

      With extreme attention to detail, creates and extends offers to candidates in accordance with postings. Conducts audits of new hire records to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational and legal requirements.

      Prepares assigned new hires for New Employee Orientation and ensures all mandatory documentation is completed.

      Closes out position requisitions in the agency's applicant tracking system (ATS) and completes all onboarding requirements to include, I-9 processes for assigned new hires at the conclusion of New Employee Orientation.

      Assists Agency Recruiter with recruitment and hiring events as necessary.

      Performs other related job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

      STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

      A high school diploma and administrative experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

      ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


      Must have working knowledge of human resources laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the area of employment.

      Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.

      Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

      Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

      Ability to communicate effectively.

      A Human Resources certification from an accredited body is preferred.

      This position will require both, independent and collaborative thinking as it pertains to enhancing the agency's recruitment process and experience for both internal and external customers.

      This position will support the recruitment efforts to achieve and maintains optimal levels in conjunction with agency objectives to ensure agency objectives can be met.

      This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the employee may have direct and indirect contact with youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

      Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, have mobile dexterity to utilize office equipment with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

      PREFERRED AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:


      A degree in human resources management programs and at least one (1) year of experience.
