Job summary
To train in the full duties of a decontamination technician in this specialist area responsible for all flexible endoscopes, in accordance with the Trust and National decontamination policies. To work flexibly at MPH and Bridgwater Community Hospital. The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the cleaning, decontamination and handling of expensive delicate endoscopic equipment where dismantling/re-assembly and processing must be carried out with extreme care.
Care and maintenance of complex decontamination processing machines.
To operate complex washer/drier decontamination machines after training.
To carry out and document tests of machinery in use on a daily basis.
To ensure equipment is loaded correctly into automated washer disinfectors
To be able to use IT systems.
To work flexibly across MPH & BCH
