Job summary
You will be responsible for the daily coordinating of the Endoscopy Unit while also supporting the Band 7 Deputy Unit Manager in the development of staff and the provision of excellence in all standards of nursing afforded to our patients . You will provide daily on the floor leadership to the staff within the Endoscopy Unit supporting quality auditing of standards and flow of patients, through all endoscopy rooms in a timely and safe manner.
You will be expected to have strong experiential knowledge of working at a senior band 5 level in Endoscopy, you will also have a kind, caring and compassionate nature. This will be utilised to support the team through daily challenges with positivity, an open mind to change and the achievement of the best patient experience always being uppermost in the team's care delivery.
Main duties of the job
You will support the Endoscopy Unit Mangers to develop, implement and monitor pathways to maintain and improve service and flow for all endoscopy users and staff within the service. You will further support the unit to maintain key accreditation standards that demonstrate excellent delivery of safety and patient experience (JAG, COAST, CQC).

About us
Our Endoscopy unit is a busy JAG accredited Unit undertaking diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. This includes Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Capsule Endoscopy, ERCP, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, EUS, and Enteroscopy. We also perform Therapeutic and Palliative stenting PEG, NJ insertion, In-patient endoscopy, GA Endoscopy and 24 hour 7 days a week GI Bleeds service. Through investment we will soon have 6 working endoscopy rooms that deliver to our patients; we have use of Theatres and Farage Unit as procedural areas when radiological and GA support is required. We will soon expand our in-session TNE capacity to a dedicated TNE service. We are a forward-thinking evolving service and due to a near complete refurbishment and expansion of service we are looking to recruit another band 6 coordinator to our team.
