      Job Summary:

      We are seeking a skilled Energy Modeling and Optimization Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing energy models to optimize power and natural gas operations for customers. You will also be responsible for creating additional training materials, as needed, to grow our team’s expertise in modeling and optimization. The ideal candidate will have experience working with energy systems, data analytics, and modeling techniques to support decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. Experience using Hitachi Energy's Portfolio Optimization or SENDOUT products is a plus.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Develop and maintain energy models for power and/or natural gas markets to support operational and strategic decision-making for customers.
      • Analyze market trends, pricing structures, and consumption patterns to optimize generation operations and natural gas resource planning.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modeling insights into business operations.
      • Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess market risks and opportunities.
      • Provide technical expertise on energy modeling software and methodologies.
      • Interpret regulatory impacts on energy optimization strategies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
      • Conduct research on emerging technologies and innovations in energy optimization.
      • Support development of future roadmaps related to power and natural gas modeling and optimization

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, business, economics, or other related field
      • Experience in energy modeling, optimization, and analytics within the power or natural gas sector.
      • Awareness of programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB for modeling and data analysis.
      • Knowledge of energy market dynamics, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
      • Experience with simulation tools and optimization methodologies.
      • Ability to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.
      • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with Hitachi Energy's Portfolio Optimization or SENDOUT products is a plus.
      • Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to energy modeling is a plus
      • Prior work experience in energy trading, utility operations, or consulting is a plus
      • Knowledge of grid optimization, demand forecasting, and integrated resource planning.
