This on-site position is based out of Denver International Airport.
Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm MST.
The City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field at least three days a week and telecommute remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days.

Facilitate the utility coordination and serve as an expert resource to DEN and tenant projects.
Review studies and the develop recommendations to ensure that new loads do not have an adverse impact on the resiliency of DEN's power supply.
Direct the development of contracts within the functional area including drafting RFP for professional/services contracts, evaluating proposals, selecting successful bidder, and monitoring contracts for compliance and expenditures.
Review and evaluate design drawings, specifications, and project development documents.
Review and respond to contractor Requests for Information and submittals.
Experience managing complex infrastructure projects from initiation through completion, utilizing various project delivery methods
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Managing project schedules and budgets
Managing professional services, design, and construction contract agreements
Planning, defining, and measuring project performance
Proactively identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating project risks
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management
Progressive experience managing complex infrastructure and/or facility projects at a large, commercial airport or facility with 24/7 operations.
Professional Engineering (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
Association of Energy Engineers – Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Five (5) years of professional project management or energy management experience, including planning, managing, and scheduling projects and preparing and reviewing contract documents.
Education and Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
Licensure & Certification: requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

What You’ll Do
The DEN Energy Management team oversees a portfolio of over $100 million of energy resiliency, reliability, efficiency, and decarbonization projects in support of DEN's sustainability and resiliency goals, including the City of Denver's largest solar energy projects, a battery energy storage project, and the largest Energy Performance Contract in the State of Colorado. Additionally, in order to meet DEN's planned growth over the next 10-15 years, significant utility infrastructure will need to be built out. We anticipate that the utility infrastructure will need to double by 2030 to accommodate this new construction and the electrification of vehicles, ground support equipment (GSE), and buildings.
The DEN Energy Management team is looking for an Energy Project Manager to serve as a technical expert in the area of energy management and support the implementation of energy projects at the Airport. The Energy Project Manager will help deliver a portfolio of projects to drive energy efficiency, develop additional on-site renewable energy, and increase the resiliency of the utility infrastructure.
This position will serve as a technical expert and requires a thorough foundation in the principles and practices of energy management and project management. The Energy Project Manager may perform lead work on complex projects, which includes monitoring overall construction and design, tracking project schedules, overseeing costs and expenditures, reviewing design drawings, ensuring compliance and conformance to engineering and design standards within contract specifications, and performing field and site inspections. Additionally, this position will support DEN and Tenant projects as a technical expert.
The Energy Project Manager will help evaluate technology and regulatory developments impacting the future of aviation and airport energy management. This position will provide subject matter expertise to help develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with benchmarking, energy and GHG reduction requirements. This position will also help evaluate the impacts/risks of new regulations and develop recommendations achieve compliance.
The role will require effective coordination, communication, and collaboration with DEN stakeholders, government agencies, airline representatives, engineers, and contractors to effectively implement projects.

Shift Work/Emergency Duties
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges arise, weather conditions warrant , or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays).
