      Specific Responsibilities

      This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

      • Manage portfolio of sales, purchases, transportation and service contracts
      • Identify, select, and service 3rd party customers (lease buyers, hub buyers, export buyers, truck transporters, pipeline transporters, storage owners, terminal owners, ship owners, ship brokers)
      • Coordinate with asset managers to monitor new well activity and development plans
      • Negotiate commercial terms related to gathering, transportation and sales contracts for all active domestic crude and all international production
      • Determine the best contracting option for Apache based on contract economics, market optionality, transporter history, counterparty creditworthiness, and transporter reliability
      • Work with Apache Legal to develop contracts while considering the various contractual needs for the contracted services
      • Represent domestic capital needs or expense obligations to internal management as needed
      • Monitor third party infrastructure buildout to ensure timely wellhead connections
      • Amend contracts as may be necessary for existing or new development
      • Evaluate contract termination rights and evaluate alternative markets
      • Defend Apache’s contractual rights during force majeure events and other contractual issues
      • Serve as crude oil marketing subject matter expert for other functional groups
      • Assist Accounting and Audit groups to resolve financial and payment issues as they arise
      • Provide support and guidance to Exploration, Planning and asset teams regarding market developments and pricing
      • Provide support to the Credit group regarding financial assurance risks of counterparties
      • Provide support to Business Development regarding asset divestitures and acquisitions

      Qualifications & Experience

      The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing or other Business field required.
      • 6+ years of professional experience in crude oil marketing preferred.
      • Strong communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, and organizational skills.
      • Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems.
