- 0-3 years of experience in the field of naval architecture or marine engineering,
- Coursework in subjects such as:
- Ship design and construction
- Hydrodynamics and hydrostatics
- Materials science and structural analysis
- Propulsion systems and machinery
- Marine systems and equipment
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as:
- AutoCAD
- Rhino
- CATIA
- Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools, such as:
- ANSYS
- OpenFOAM
- Abaqus
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as:
- American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
- International Maritime Organization (IMO)
- U.S. Coast Guard
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Professional certification, such as:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (may be required for senior roles or after a certain number of years of experience)
- Participation in internships, co-op programs, or research projects related to naval architecture or marine engineering can be beneficial for gaining practical experience and making industry connections.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departmental lines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Highly organized and proficient in project management
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills

We are currently hiring for an entry level Naval Architect/Marine Engineer. The candidate will support our Engineering Services Division (ESD) and our Manufacturing and Fabrication functions and will also interact with our team members within our company such as dockmasters, program management team members (ship superintendents, project managers, program managers, etc.), craft managers, craft supervisors, safety and environmental employees and customers representatives.
In this role, you'll provide support with layout, process design, process improvement implementation that enables our sites to achieve peak performance. You'll lead Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects, and you'll identify and implement process flow, cost reduction, quality, and safety improvements. This is a high visibility position where you will interact across all levels from the Shop floor to the Board room, and you will be challenged to deliver results that have a direct impact on company profitability.Job Title
