Job Description

- Develop and deploy a new standardized Supplier Development Program, focusing on ISO/AS Quality Management Systems (QMS), Process Val/Ver, Root Cause and Corrective Action (8D), Continual Improvement/Lean 6Sigma methodologies, Data Analytics, Technical Specification Review, Inspection Methods, GD&T, AS9145 APQP/PPAP, and Project Management, for electronic & mechanical manufacturing technologies
- Lead a cross-functional team through supplier engagement, supplier assessment, development plan creation & execution, and performance monitoring activities
- Analyze supplier performance data (KPIs, Scorecards, etc.) to plan tailored on-site supplier engagements that benefit the supplier and BAE
- Perform on-site supplier assessments, engagements, and trainings
- Plan and lead training and development sessions in a group or individual supplier scenario; can include developing the material
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create a One-Voice BAE message to the supply base
- Lead in resolving systemic supplier issues
- Enhance supplier and organization quality culture through coaching and technical engagement
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4-6+ years of experience or 8-10+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Supplier Quality experience
- Self-starter with strong teaching capabilities
- Some experience with, and an understanding of, sourcing and execution in regulated, demanding industries such as Aerospace/Defense, Medical Device, Automotive, or other challenging markets
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in diverse and different settings
- Motivates team members, fosters and nurtures teamwork
- Travel required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing
- 6+ years direct or related experience in Supplier Quality or Supplier Development
- Experience with Quality Management Systems, specifically ISO 9001 and AS9100
- Knowledge of or experience with AS9145 or APQP
- Lean 6Sigma certifications
- Direct experience with supplier development
- Project Management
- Direct experience with the International Aerospace and Quality Group (IAQG) Supplier Capability Assessment (SCA)
- Direct experience with the International Aerospace and Quality Group (IAQG) AS9145 Maturity Assessment

The Successful Candidate
BAE Systems is seeking a Supplier Quality Development Engineer to help create and deploy a new, standardized Supplier Development Program (SDP). This individual will work with Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Engineering to deploy the SDP across the supply base, targeting KPI improvements that will have substantial impact on factory’s ability to be successful. This individual must be a self-starting leader and problem solver who can effectively partner with multiple functional organizations both internally and externally for success.
