The College of Optometry (COO) Advancement team creates and implements strategies to support the college’s reputation and fundraising goals. The Engagement and Alumni Relations, Associate works under the direction of the Director of Development and Interim Executive Director and is responsible for supporting college alumni relations, stewardship and development strategic priorities.
This position supports and implements activities that promote engaged alumni and donors, providing excellent customer service to alumni, donors and participants on the phone, through email and at events. The position will assist with implementing select stewardship activities that are aligned with the COO donor stewardship plan, drive donor satisfaction and continued giving, will manage and submit alumni and donor data to TAS, pull reports to influence data-driven decisions and work with the college’s marketing team to build emails for advancement work and advertisements for continuing education. The position identifies new opportunities to engage alumni and friends of Ohio State through continuing education activities with a goal of growing and enhancing continuing education participation and enrollment across the college, profession, and alumni base.
Occasional nights and weekends may be required to support alumni and donor engagement/stewardship strategies.
The ideal candidate will have:
Duties and Responsibilities
40% Continuing Education Coordination
Serve as the lead for coordination of continuing education including organizing events, customer service, regulatory board approval, distribution of certificates, tracking continuing education credits and accreditation, works with college marketing team to advertise and promote virtual and in-person learning opportunities, works directly with the Director to secure speakers, payments, and logistics. Is an active leader on the College of Optometry Continuing Education Committee.
30% Constituent and Stewardship
Coordinates and assists with donor acknowledgement processes and reporting; assists with creation of donor impact reports and prepares alumni and donor briefings. Coordinates day-to-day stewardship activities and donor correspondence. Implements college’s donor relations strategy and stays current with stewardship best practices to work towards donor retention and growth.
25% Advancement Events Support and Alumni Engagement
Provides support of day-to-day activities and functions of the advancement office; provides administrative support to director; independently provides customer service to alumni donors on the phone, through mail and email and at events, drafts and prepares correspondence, reports and presentations; maintains event calendars; schedules and coordinates meetings including catering, audio-visual equipment, room reservations, and set-up & take-down; tracks alumni and donor data to TAS, makes travel and lodging arrangements; prepares and tracks requests for reimbursement of expenses.
5% Miscellaneous
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
The pay range for this job profile is $19.52 – $26.04 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
