- Supervise and oversee production and tasks as assigned by the Production Manager.
- Responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of respective production area, including, but not limited to requisitioning necessary equipment, materials and manpower needed to perform assigned tasks.
- Responsible for tracking and coordinating manpower, production, and budget.
- Responsible for supervising, providing leadership and direction to department staff.
- Responsible for completing administrative paperwork relating to staff and department.
- Responsible for maintaining daily production schedules and ensure safety, quality and production requirements are met.
- Must be able to manage problems and requests from various departments in a professional and timely manner.
- Responsible for analysis of problems and implementing countermeasures to improve department performance in assigned areas.
- Must be able to communicate with supervisors, managers and other company personnel in a professional manner.
- Perform miscellaneous duties to support production functions and quality control procedures.
- Follow all established safety rules and procedures.
- Reports any unsafe conditions and work-related accidents to department manager or the Safety Manager.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by department manager.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations; keeps work environment clean and free of hazards.
- Follows all departmental procedures and policies. Recommends changes to procedure for supervisor approval.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-7 years experience with an in-depth knowledge of engine building and engine block specifications.
- Must have or acquire basic hand tool set with standard and metric measurement.
- Some computer knowledge.
- Good time management skills.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, bend, stoop and/or reach. Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently (Level 3 Medium Work).
- Mobility sufficient to access shop and used parts or engine storage areas.
- The ability to listen to and understand information through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to see details at close range.
- Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity sufficient to manipulate hand tools and powered equipment.
- Effective communication/comprehension skills-verbal and written.
- Self-motivated and goal oriented.
- Able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
- Ability to exhibit good judgment and adaptable to different situations.

Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating all aspects of assigned projects including, but not limited to; requisitioning equipment, materials and manpower needed to efficiently complete assigned tasks. Supervises staff in multiple departments including: Engine Shop and Dyno Shop.
Level of Authority:
Performs routine duties independently in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
Most of the work is performed in an industrial, non-climate controlled environment. The employee may regularly work near moving mechanical parts; in an area with moderate to extreme noise levels. Safety shoes are required.
