- Review Service Bulletins (SBs) from airframe manufacturers or component manufacturers for effectivity to United Fleet
- Develop solutions and implement plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis, and overall management of project implementation which can include acquiring FAA approvals and coordinating warranty recovery on SBs that are applicable
- Prioritize and own the priorities for assigned responsibilities and accomplish the work process to meet all results for projects both online and base aircraft, as well as maintenance program changes and technical specification revisions.
- Coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Entry level to 5 years of engineering experience
- Engineering skill sets that can be applied to a range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and engines. For service engineering positions, these same technical skills are applied toward operational issues versus project-specific work.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and drive solutions.
- Provide a detailed level of project management for regulatory compliance and aircraft modifications.
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
- 50% travel required in both international and domestic locations.
- Boeing /Airbus Structures I, Airframe/Powerplant License or E license
- Maintenance check engineering experience on Boeing/Airbus aircraft

Job overview and responsibilities
Provide engineering support for a wide range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs, engines, and operational engineering functions. Have the ability to understand, analyze, and seek solutions to the design, operation, maintenance, performance, or repair of aircraft and their components. Be able to logically approach problem-solving, define an aircraft maintenance program or configurations, and ensure a safe and legal operation. As a United Airlines Engineer, you will also evaluate the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure a balance of cost and asset utilization. You will be accountable for working with both internal and external customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations. You could work in a variety of engineering departments based on current needs.

· B.S. degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
· Prior work experience in Aircraft Cabin Communications, Cabin Lighting, Inflight Entertainment, and onboard Wireless Communications (ATA 23, 33, 44)
· Knowledge of FARS (especially 145, 25, and 121)
· Ability to specify, install, and sustain specific cabin electrical equipage for functionality, reliability, and life cycle management.
· Strong skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
