      YOU

      As an Engineer, Codes and Compliance you’ll provide technical consultation regarding codes and standards, related technical groups, and compliance to industry regulations with a focus on concrete and masonry anchorage and strengthening, mass timber/offsite construction, structural steel, or fasteners and connectors to wood and steel. You’ll be recognized as a codes and compliance authority and technical resource. You will efficiently and effectively disseminate new or updated codes and compliance requirements or technical group proposals that may affect our products to affected product or market groups and other interested parties, through company communication, code and compliance presentations, blog posts, or other means. You’ll participate in code, standard and technical group committees, organizations, and activities. You will demonstrate knowledge in a variety of the industry's concepts, design practices, and procedures.

      WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

      Participate in building code, design standards, and technical group committees, organizations, and related activities. (35%)

      Manage evaluation report submittal projects with conformity assessment bodies, interfacing with R&D and product engineers, quality teams, and product managers. (25%)

      Assist with acceptance criteria development and revision for new and existing products (15%)

      Develop and provide codes and compliance presentations. (10%)

      Perform industry evaluations. (5%)

      Perform technical research. (5%)

      Work with Engineering and Marketing on codes and compliance information in technical literature. (5%)

      DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

      If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

      • Bachelors of Science in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering required
      • Successful completion of NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam required
      • Licensed Civil or Structural Engineer preferred.
      • 4 years design or similar experience, with design expertise in one or more of the following: concrete and masonry anchorage design, concrete and masonry strengthening using solutions such as FRP and FRCM, structural steel design, mass timber/offsite construction, and high-wind / high-seismic lateral force resisting system analysis and design.
      • 1 year or more of technical group committee experience preferred.
      • Exposure and general understanding of architectural and structural construction drawings, details, and specifications
      • Language: Ability to read, interpret, and analyze documents such as codes and standards, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
      • Analysis/Reasoning: Effective and efficient analytical, technical, and problem solving skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out plans and objectives based upon instructions provided. Ability to make sound engineering judgements.
      • Organization: Exhibit strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
      • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to motivate and work with team members. Must be able to connect, interface, and communicate well with a variety of internal partners in sales, marketing, engineering, production, quality, and product development.
      • Communication: Strong communication skills needed as clear communication is required to effectively communicate code and standard changes and to deliver projects to customers. Ability to interface well with industry experts and leaders is essential while attending committee and technical group meetings.
      • Accountability & Dependability: Accountable for measurable, high-quality, timely, and reliable results.
      • Self-Management: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner, with independent management and effective use of resources.
      • Influence: Ability to gain cooperation from others to obtain information and accomplish goals.

      Travel

      This position requires domestic travel up to 25% of the time with some overnight stays

      Work Status & Location

      This full-time, exempt position may be remote, however there are numerous U.S. Branch locations for on-site office use, if preferred.

      Pay

      $69400 - $108200 / year

      Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
