      Engineer-Computer, Mold Flow Simulation

      Work Mode: Onsite

      Location: Onsite at Huntsville, AL

      Opportunity

      This position is located onsite at the Kohler Huntsville, AL manufacturing facility producing Kitchen & Bath compression molded products made of SMC (sheet molded compound). This position is responsible for computer engineering projects as assigned, including mold flow simulation of the compression molding process.

      Develop mold flow simulation models and to support continuous improvement in the manufacturing area as well as any related projects as assigned.

      Specific Responsibilities

      • Develop mold flow simulation models for part and process optimization recommendations of Kitchen & Bath SMC compression molded products.
      • Evaluate model data for accuracy compared to production process results.
      • Optimize models for material and process parameters, variability, etc.
      • Identify targeted improvement projects based on model results for product and process yield and quality improvements.
      • Monitor the improvement projects and implementation to support achieving desired results.
      • Replicate models across additional products as assigned, including new product designs for feasibility evaluation of designs.
      • Assist in developing, deploying, and standardizing plant visual information and data analytic systems as assigned.
      • Can include visualization and SCADA implementation.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.
      • Trained in all applicable SOPs, LOPs, policies, and procedures.

      Skills/Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree from an engineering discipline (Computer or Software engineering preferred) from an ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program with solid intern and/or co-op work experience in an engineering environment.
      • Should possess solid communication skills.
      • Must perform assignments and improvements with a high degree of urgency and quality.

      The salary range for this position is $76,050 - $96,050. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
