Job Description

- Engineers must be proficient and versatile in three or more building trades: electrical (low and medium voltages), painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC&R, commercial kitchen equipment, commercial swimming pools, and general mechanics
- Receives and responds to maintenance calls within the hotel and casino from guests and other departments
- Maintains and or repairs drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC&R, electrical, kitchen equipment, commercial swimming pools, fan coils units, VAV’s, AHU’s, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers and energy management systems
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical/electrical equipment ranging from heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, refrigeration equipment
- Troubleshoots electrical systems, motor controls, lighting dimming systems and UPS systems
- Responds to Fire life safety system alarm notifications
- Reads and understands blueprints
- Maintains a property wide clean and safe work area
- Relocates table games, slot machines according to floor layout and surveillance requirements
- Handles guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
- Completes additional duties/tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
- Reports to the Director of Engineering.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required
- At least five (5) years of experience in hotel and casino maintenance is required
- At least five (5) years of experience working with Fire Life Safety Systems, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC&R, Central Utility Plants, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers
- Previous experience working with electrical and lighting systems (i.e. Crestron or Lutron dimmer systems)
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of business
- A professional appearance and demeanor must be maintained at all times
- Must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in English, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
- A proven ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
- Operating knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools and powered equipment
- Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment such as: telephones, copier, fax machines, Email, Windows, Microsoft office, HotSOS
- Must possess a minimum of two certifications - Clark County, Nevada NEC Card, EPA Universal Card, Certified Pool Operator Card, Backflow Preventer Card
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- A valid NV Driver’s License is required and must be obtained before entering this position
- Must be 21 years of age or older
